(2020-2021)
Dark Twisted Mind is an interactive performance and installation that reflects on structural violence. It stages a dynamic interplay between the programmer of the structure, the compliers, and the victim—through an interactive chain reaction of sound, light, and movement governed by a game score. The work was developed in production with HfS Berlin.
The sonic environment was composed using texts, voice, dense noise layers, and harsh high-frequency tones. The sound design—researched and developed in association with a butchery—was recorded, produced, live-mixed, and spatialized across six channels of loudspeakers, creating an immersive auditory field for both players and observers. Sound was chosen as the primary medium to transmit the invisible, ghostly presence of structural violence. Light, responsive to the triggered sound, served not only as a visual mediator but also as a spatial disruptor—a “space cutter.”
